4. Frank Clark will lead the NFL in sacks

Letting Houston and Ford leaves the Chiefs looking to replace a lot of pressure on the edge heading into 2019. Dealing for Clark was clearly an effort to arm the defense with a premier pass rusher. Look for the former Seahawks’ star to have a big year.

In fact, he’s got a great chance to be an All-Pro and lead the entire league in sacks. It’s not as if he wasn’t a prolific pass rusher last year. He put up 13 sacks for Seattle in 2018. There are plenty of reasons to think he could be even more productive this year in Kansas City.

The sheer number of points the Chiefs offense puts up means that opposing teams are forced to play from behind on a regular basis. That leads to a relatively high number of pass attempts against their defense. More passing plays equals more chances for Clark to harass opposing quarterbacks.

The chance to play next to Chris Jones on a regular basis is also going to give Clark enough opportunities to enjoy one-on-one match-ups. He’ll need Alex Okafor to make enough plays on the other edge to keep offenses honest, but look for Clark to post a career year. Flirting with 20 sacks is not out of the question.
