28. Toronto Blue Jays, 29-51, 4th in the AL East (ranked 29th last week)

Marcus Stroman’s last three starts have been excellent, posting a 1.89 ERA striking out 14 batters and walking just two during that stretch. The 28-year-old starter is starting to toss the ball well, and it couldn’t come at a more perfect time for Toronto, who is going to looking to add more talent for the future.

But for the moment, the Blue Jays have won only four of their last 10 games and are going to be tough to watch for the rest of the season. For long-time fans, appreciate every start Stroman has left with the Blue Jays because he’s their best trade chip and may be the overall best option on the trade market this summer.

27. Kansas City Royals, 28-52, last in the AL Central (ranked 28th last week)

The Royals just took a series away from Cleveland, winning two of three, and have won six of their last 10 games. OF/DH Jorge Soler hasn’t been hitting the ball well lately, batting just .220 in the month of June, but his .851 slugging and seven home runs have been huge for the Royals lately. On the season, the 27-year-old former Chicago Cub leads the club with 21 dingers and may be finally carving out a role on this Royals team.

The pitching is still not great with young arms like Brad Keller and Jakob Junis still struggling some as of late, but veterans Danny Duffy and Homer Bailey haven’t been much better on the season, either. Ultimately, this team has found a few pieces to build around and could possibly add more this summer at the deadline.
