12. That ’70s Show

Members: What other sitcom friend group would you want to hang out with down the street, doing the same old thing you did last week? The kids of That ’70s Show, of course. Eric (Topher Grace), Donna (Laura Prepon), Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), Hyde (Danny Masterson), Jackie (Mila Kunis), and Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) were just a set of ’70s teens getting blazed in the Formans’ basement, and that’s precisely why they are among the best sitcom friend groups.

Memorable moments: It’s almost impossible to narrow down the memorable moments of That ’70s Show when the series opens with the gang taking Eric’s newly acquired car out of town for a Todd Rundgren concert. But the kids soon followed that up with streaking at President Ford’s Q&A, dining and dashing, and going on a road trip to Canada for beer. And in television’s long history of characters responding to an unexpected “I love you” without reciprocation, Eric’s response to Donna just might take the cake (pun intended) for the funniest romantic flop.

Running gags: That ’70s Show has become known for some of its bigger recurring elements like the smoke circle, the water tower (and Kelso falling off of it), the stupid helmet, and the Vista Cruiser. But there are also a ton of running gags and catchphrases throughout the series such as Red calling people “dumbass,” Fez never revealing his real name or country, Eric’s “dolls” and Star Wars quotes, the word burn, Kelso exclaiming, “Ow, my eye!” in reaction to Hyde’s roughhousing, and Fez’s iconic kiss-off, ” I said good day!”

Key episodes: “Streaking,” “Hyde Moves In,” “Garage Sale,” “I Love Cake,” “Eric’s Panties,” “Dine and Dash,” “Canadian Road Trip,” “Eric’s Corvette Caper,” “Going to California,” “Misty Mountain Hop,” “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” “Happy Jack,” “Till the Next Goodbye,” “Fun It,” “That ’70s Finale.”
