Biggest Trap Game: at Tennessee (Oct. 5)

Fans in Athens are surely trying to forget how the 2018 season ended for the Georgia Bulldogs. After Kirby Smart seemingly had Alabama beat in the SEC Championship Game, the Bulldogs were overtaken in the second half by the Crimson Tide, thus missing out on a second straight College Football Playoff berth. If that weren’t sour enough of a taste, Georgia followed that up with an embarrassing Sugar Bowl loss to Texas.

The offense for Georgia is seemingly in great, steady hands across the board. Not only do they have one of the talented offensive lines in the country but they have the weapons abound to make everything hum. Jake Fromm appears to be an elite NFL quarterback prospect and running back D’Andre Swift joins him as a top-tier pro prospect as well. And while the receiver room lost several bodies, there is still talent there for Fromm to find.

While Georgia’s defense looked quite bad against Texas in the Sugar Bowl loss with now-departed Deandre Baker sitting out, this is a deep and talented group on that side of the ball. They have 5-star young talent ready to take up the mantle if more veteran players aren’t up to the task, which is a luxury for Smart given his astounding recruiting.

Though the Bulldogs are in the SEC, their schedule is truly not terribly difficult. But an early October trip to Knoxville to face Tennessee could be tricky. Jeremy Pruitt will not only be looking to get his improved team a signature win, but this game also comes on the heels of Georgia playing Notre Dame and ahead of their conference schedule. As such, they must be on alert against the Volunteers.
