Every NBA team’s all-time starting lineup
Sacramento Kings
PG – Oscar Robertson
Before he became the triple-double man, Oscar Robertson spent the beginning of his career playing for the Cincinnati Royals. The Royals would eventually become the Sacramento Kings, which allows him to appear for a second time on this list. Robertson’s number 14 is retired by the Kings’ franchise.
SG – Mitch Richmond
After his time in Golden State as a member of the famous Run TMC Warriors, Richmond found his way to California’s state capitol with the Sacramento Kings and maintained his all-star level play for several years with that team. Though there were no catchy nicknames, the Richmond-led Kings managed to have some of the best seasons in franchise history.
SF – Peja Stojakovic
Peja Stojakovic, the sharpshooting Serbian small forward, started off as a bit player for the Sacramento Kings but as time passed his role and importance increased. Stojakovic was more than just a shooter and in Sacramento, he was truly beloved by the team and fans.
PF – Chris Webber
Following stops with the Washington Bullets and Golden State Warriors, Chris Webber, the talented and multifaceted power forward, found a true home with the Sacramento Kings. Playing with Vlade Divac, Mike Bibby, Peja Stojakovic, and others, Webber helped the Kings become the toughest foe to the Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal Los Angeles Lakers teams of the early-2000s.
C – DeMarcus Cousins
Casts as problematic and temperamental the one thing that couldn’t be denied about DeMarcus Cousins during his time with the Sacramento Kings was his skill level. Cousins was the Kings’ best player each year he was there but issues with the front office, teammates, and the revolving door that was the head coach position made the situation between Sacramento and Cousins toxic at times. In the end, when looking back over the team’s history it is hard to find another player more worthy of this spot than Boogie Cousins.
