Philadelphia Eagles: Week 14 vs. New York Giants

In Week 1 of this upcoming season, Doug Pederson’s Philadelphia Eagles will welcome the Washington Redskins to the City of Brotherly Love. Six weeks later, the Birds will fly south to renew acquaintances with the reigning NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys in what is the second leg of a three-game road trip.

However, it’s then worth noting that that the next time the Birds will see a divisional neighbor in 2019 won’t be until Week 14, when they host the New York Giants on a Monday night. That begins a stretch of four consecutive contests versus their NFC East rivals. That prime time affair is followed by a trip to Landover, Maryland over to face the ‘Skins, a home tilt with the Dallas Cowboys and then a season-ending trip to MetLife Stadium to renew acquaintances with Big Blue.

A year ago, it took the Eagles more than half the year to find their stride. The then-defending Super Bowl champions didn’t win two consecutive games until Weeks 12 and 13. Pederson’s club wound up rallying from a 4-6 start to finish 9-7 and reach the playoffs as a wild card. But the team was swept by the eventual NFC East champion Cowboys. All told, it’s going to be quite the four-game stretch run for an Eagles’ team that looks as talented as any in the league thanks to a very productive offseason.
