MJF vs. Jungle Boy vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. “Hangman” Adam Page

Pre-match, MJF cut one of his typical promos and got a lot of heat from the crowd in the process. He’s certainly a great heel, and one that the wrestling industry had been lacking. Jungle Boy came out on Luchasaurus’s shoulders which has become a staple of the weekly Being the Elite show on YouTube. Those two are great together.

Kip Sabian joined the commentary team during this fatal four-way and it was announced he would be facing the winner of this match at Fight for the Fallen. The match itself was fantastic. Everyone came off really well. The crowd absolutely loved any time Page and MJF had an interaction in or out of the ring. We could easily see this being AEW’s main showcase feud after All Out in August and once weekly television begins in October.

The finish saw Page hit the Dead Eye on Jimmy Havoc to pick up the win. So he and Sabian will face off on July 13. It should certainly be a good one.

Darby Allin vs. “The American Nightmare” Cody

If this was your first time seeing a Darby Allin match, you might have been in shock with some of the things you witnessed throughout this matchup. But truth be told, this is something we expected going in, and we felt the match itself delivered big time.

Allin brought a body bag with him with the ring that read “CODY 1-1,” on it to signify what Allin predicted would be Cody’s loss to him in this contest. But at the end of the day, no one actually was able to pick up a victory here.

The end of the match saw a pretty sickening Cross Rhodes from Cody, but by the time he was able to cover Allin he only got a two count before the time limit expired. After all the talk surrounding Double or Nothing that they didn’t want to do a time limit draw between Page and PAC before the match was ultimately called off, this was a bit of a head-scratching decision. Why did Cody have to be protected here? And if they had no intentions on him losing this match, why not book Allin against someone else?

After the match was over Cody was asking the timekeeper to give them five more minutes. But Shawn Spears hit the ring and clobbered him with an unprotected steel chair shot to the head. Cody went down in a heap and Spears took off through the crowd.

This brought out MJF, Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian to check on Cody, along with Brandi who was already at ringside, as he was bleeding pretty badly from the back of his head. While we understand the angle and the potential matchup coming between Spears and Cody at All Out, unprotected chair shots have no business in professional wrestling in 2019. We know the effects they can cause and this really isn’t something any company should be doing when it comes to looking out for their talent. That’s just our two cents.
