Jon Moxley vs. “Bad Boy” Joey Janela in an Unsanctioned Match

Earlier in the week, All Elite Wrestling announced that the match between Jon Moxley and Joey Janela would be unsanctioned by the company, citing that based on the promos the two men have cut on each other, it was going to be too extreme for the company to get behind.

Honestly, the unprotected chair shot to the head was the worst, most “extreme” thing on this show. Anyone who has seen Janela and Moxley’s previous work in the past knows that their Fyter Fest match could have been so much more violent.

Ultimately, it was a fun hardcore match, the type we would have probably been seen during the Attitude Era. Moxley and Janela beat the heck out of each other and it was certainly a spectacle to behold.

The finish saw Moxley cover pretty much half of the ring in thumbtacks. He took Janela’s socks off and put his feet in the thumbtacks before hitting him with the Paradigm Shift to pick up the victory. After the match ended, Omega attacked Moxley, getting revenge for the attack on him at Double or Nothing. It ended with Omega hitting Dirty Deeds on Moxley on top of a trash can on the stage to end the show.

Overall, Fyter Fest was a good show. Was it as good as Double or Nothing? No, it wasn’t. But it was still an entertaining show that flew by pretty quickly and ended way before it felt like it was going on too long.

We are just a few weeks away from Fight for the Fallen, which as far as we know will be the final show AEW runs before All Out in Chicago.
