DraftKings PGA: 2019 3M Open Picks

Hideki Matsuyama 11,100

Matsuyama is playing extremely consistent at the moment, but he has not put everything together for 4 rounds yet. He is the 2nd priced golfer in the field, which is not typically where we see Matsuyama. However, I am willing to eat the price and the chalk this week. Last week on the 7th hole of the Rocket Mortgage I saw Matsuyama hit the best shot I had ever seen in my entire life. He hit it in a small window between 3 trees, kept it low enough to avoid the branches, and also avoided the green side tree. The ball rolled up onto the green from 240 yards out and Matsuyama made his eagle putt. Do not doubt this dude, because he is incredible.

Hideki ranks 1st overall in my model. In this field, Hideki-bot ranks 1st in approach, T2G, DK points, Opportunities gained, and BOB gained. He is lights out in every stat in my model and his putting is trending.

Bryson DeChambeau 10,500

The guy is a stud and he seems to be trending in the right direction. Bryson also plays easy golf courses with no wind exceptionally. His game had been struggling since his win on the other side of the Earth earlier this year.  However, I really liked what I saw at the Travelers, the US Open and at the Memorial. He is finally gaining strokes on the green and on approach, which is key to his success. DeChambeau ranks 10th in my model.

Tony Finau 9,200

Finau is too talented of a player for this price-tag. This course should set up well for the bomber. He has not been playing the best of golf recently, but you still have to respect his game. After 3 straight missed cuts I expect him to rebound with a nice showing after taking a couple of weeks to recharge.
