FanDuel MLB: Top Hitting Stacks Main Slate

If you’ve been following these posts over the years, you’re not surprised by my main metric focus for the offensive stacks. First of all, I like to focus on stacks for MLB DFS. When a lineup is scoring runs, it usually takes several hitters to execute those runs.

So, you could score double-digit points with three to four hitters in just one inning. More runs in more innings, you’re climbing over 20 to 30 points. And, what’s the quickest way to get runs in baseball? Why, the ‘Home Run’ of course.

When I prepare for each slate, looking at offense after I’ve found the pitching arm to anchor my lineup, I like to focus on the highest home runs per nine innings. For this slate, due to the price tag of our pitcher, we’re going to need some cheap picks as well. Especially considering the price of some of our top offensive picks.

It’s no surprise Dallas Keuchel is struggling after a couple starts for the Braves. He spent most of his off-season and half the regular season NOT pitching for anyone. So it’s going to take some time for Keuchel to get back into a rhythm. In the meantime, we’re targeting his arm for home runs.

Keuchel’s 5.50 ERA and 1.78 WHIP is already juicy enough. But he’s also giving up over 2.5 home runs per nine innings. And who is he facing in a hitter-friendly SunTrust park on Tuesday night? Well, the Phillies with Rhys Hoskins ($4,200) and Bryce Harper ($4,100) of course.

I realize we already have an expensive pitcher in our lineup and we could find cheaper Phillies hitters who likely get decent points. But both Hoskins and Harper seem to be heating up lately, and I’d rather have to 20 to 40 points from these two heavy hitters paired with Corbin’s arm points.

Fortunately, Reynaldo Lopez and his 2.14 home runs per nine innings is hosting a very cheap Tigers offense on Tuesday. Even though the Tigers lost two of three against the Nationals this past weekend, Jeimer Candelario ($2,400), Niko Goodrum ($2,800), and Nicholas Castellanos ($3,000) each had productive outings.

And, they’re facing more vulnerable pitching in Chicago. I love the value from all three of these bats.

Unfortunately, that still makes my lineup somewhat expensive, so we’ll need to find some cheap picks for one or two slots. Fortunately, Francisco Mejia ($2,200) and Ian Kinsler ($2,300) are very affordable Padres value plays at home against the Giants Tyler Beede who’s 6.45 ERA and 1.89 WHIP make me very excited for the return on these cheap picks.

You could just pick Mejia and find another mid-salary range offensive one-off play. However, I’d rather grab both and afford a hot Dodgers bat from Alex Verdugo ($3,400) against the D-Backs Taylor Clarke.

Clarke is another pitcher giving up over two home runs per nine innings. I’d rather grab more Dodgers bats for my lineup, but man are they expensive. If you go with a cheaper pitcher option, however, load up on those LA bats!
