MLB DFS – Building Our Bats:

If you are new to Picks and Pivots, you will realize pretty quickly that this is not about giving you plays so much as helping you think through roster construction. I am not going to go position by position or anything like that, but rather use roster construction and pricing to help you think differently about how to attack this slate.

Now, if you start with Trevor Bauer and Patrick Corbin as your two arms, you will have $7.1K per batter remaining to stack your offense ad while that means Coors Field may be out of reach, it does not mean you have to miss out on teams with 5-6 IRT’s in favorable spots.

The Tampa Bay Rays were my go to value stack on Monday and with another game against the Orioles staff on tap, at these price points, they become a way to go after a high-octane offense and still pay up for arms.

Asher Wojciechowski will start for the Orioles after being acquired from the Indians just a day earlier and will be re-called from AAA to make this start. Wojciechowski is a 30-year-old journeyman who last saw Major League time in 2017 with the Reds, and has a 6+ ERA in 78 big league innings. Woj has given up 2 HR/9 this year with advanced metrics like FIP and xFIP both over 5 in AAA, so taking his talents to the big league level against a power heavy team like the Rays should certainly not help matters.

The same trio I mentioned yesterday – Austin Meadows, Tommy Pham and Brandon Lowe all have .200+ ISO marks against RHP and with 8 batters in the projected line-up with 40% or higher hard contact rates, the Rays stack is once again one of my favorite.

Now we thought this stack was cheap yesterday, while it would seem like they get a slight price decrease as it was expected Dylan Bundy would start, but with Woj and the Orioles terrible pen now confirmed, how do you not take advantage of a stack with a 6+ IRT and no single player over $9K?
