Fantasy Football – The Top 5 Tight Ends To Watch For (#4)

4. Jared Cook (New Orleans Saints)

Jared Cook gets to go from a dysfunctional Oakland offense to a Super Bowl contending offense with the New Orleans Saints. That is a huge upgrade! With the Oakland Raiders, Cook was able to put up some nice numbers but had a somewhat difficult time of finding the end-zone. This year should be very different from a end-zone perspective. Jared Cook may have walked into a perfect scenario to put his name up there with some of the best in the league this season.

Cook recorded his best season last year, recording 896 receiving yards and found the end-zone just six times. He become a main focal point of the Oakland Raiders offense. He averaged just 56 receiving yards per game while averaging 13 yards per catch. He caught 67% of what was thrown his way while averaging 4 receptions per game which were all upticks from his previous years totals.

The New Orleans Saints only lost Mark Ingram during the free agency period this off-season but they gained a huge asset at the tight end position with Jared Cook. The Saints have multiple weapons on offense that can open up more looks and opportunities at every position. With Alvin Kamara holding down the backfield and Michael Thomas at the receiver position, Cook should be find opportunities to succeed with so many other focus points for opposing defenses.

Cook gets a huge upgraded with his Quarterback, like I mentioned earlier, which could mean a much bigger season for the tight end. I’ll be surprised if we don’t see Cook up there among the top five tight ends at the end of the season as he is in a system that has proven year after year to produce fantasy relevant skill position players.
