MLB DFS Pitching Primer: Cash Game Arm

Walker Buehler (10.1k FD, 10.9k DK) vs. Arizona

It’s a tough call here between Sale and Buehler, but I’m going with the young Dodgers righty tonight as my top play on the board even despite the fact that he is coming off his worst start of the season against the Rockies.

Let’s look at what he does have in his favor. First of all, he’s facing a Diamondbacks team that he dominated a month ago when he struck out 11 over 8 innings while allowing only one run on two hits. I like this match-up better for Buehler than I do the pesky Blue Jays for Sale. Buehler’s recent form is excellent if you throw out his start at Coors, a place that’s tough for anyone to pitch.

The savings of 1100 and 900 dollars on each site, respectively, may not seem like a lot, but can easily mean the difference between having to use a punt play and getting a more consistent hitter or two in your cash game lineup.

Given Sale’s history against Toronto this year, Buehler’s lower price, and the fact that Buehler faces an NL team which means no DH, I’m giving him a slight edge today as the top ace on the board.
