Hungry like the Wolfe

Alexander Wolfe actually had quite the busy night. Before handcuffing Trent Seven and throwing away the key, he made his in-ring NXT UK debut against Jack Starz. Despite what the above picture may lead you to believe, Wolfe positively feasts on Starz. Poor Starz, always out there trying to prove himself, always getting annihilated by his opponents.

Functionally, this match is just a way to let us know that Wolfe, too, is good at wrestling. Frankly, it’s a needed reminder after SAnitY’s ill-fated main roster run. Wolfe’s new presentation will definitely take some adjustment, as seeing him come out to Dvořák while wearing plain black trucks feels kind of wrong given he used to come out to djent music while wearing clothing salvaged from a dumpster.

But anyway, Starz never stood a chance against the refreshed and refocused Wolfe. No matter how much he tries to flip and dip his way out of precariousness, he soon finds himself on his back. After much systematic destruction, Wolfe puts Starz away with a Death Valley Driver followed by a sit-out powerbomb. Then he demands that the ref remove the immobile Starz from the ring, so that he may pose alone with zero distractions. One match in and he’s already acting like he owns the place.
