Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – FanDuel Early

2B – Keston Hiura – Milwaukee Brewers – $2,800

This 22-year-old and former 9th overall pick back in 2017 is doing everything he can to keep his spot on this Brewers squad. His game is clearly too good for AAA at this point, as he posted a massive .352 ISO in 57 games, with 19 homers and 46 RBI’s. He is still getting accustomed to Major League pitching as you could imagine, as he is now just 24 games into his big league career.

Hiura is moving his way up the batting lineup, hitting fifth most nights now. And after a fairly slow start, he is now hitting .267 with six homers. This position is fairly loaded with value today, especially here on FanDuel, but if I have the extra few hundred bucks in salary I like moving up to Hiura here against Pirates rookie Dario Agrazal, who is getting a spot start for Trevor Williams.

OF – Jake Bauers – Cleveland Indians – $2,600

I hate playing Indians. The way they have struggled offensively this season you just never know which team that you are going to get. However, after a rare Friday off, the Indians will head to Cincinnati for an inter-league two-game weekend series with the Reds before the break. Lefty Anthony DeSclafani will be on the mound, and he is a pitcher I love to target with left-handed bats. We will need some value on this slate here on FanDuel to pay up for Max Scherzer which feels like the right move at this point, and Bauers is on my radar here.

DeSclafani has been good against right-handed bats this year, but lefties certainly continue to get the best of him. 10 of his 15 home runs allowed have been to left-handed sticks, and he is currently sporting a xFIP of 5.53 against them as well. Although seven of his last eight hits are singles, Bauers has a little pop with 10 homers on the season. He was 0-for-4 in his last game, but prior to that was 8-for his last 10. One last positive about Bauers, is that he has been a much better hitter on the road this season with a batting average near .300, while hitting just .175 at home.
