Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – DraftKings Main

1B – Paul Goldschmidt – St. Louis Cardinals – $3,500

I like the fact the Cardinals offense picked it up a bit last night against Drew Pomeranz and the Giants, but they figure to have a much tougher time tonight with Madison Bumgarner. Goldschmidt has notably had his struggles this season, but he has hit safely in five straight now, and he connected on his 15th homer of the season in the first inning last night off of Pomeranz.

We would all love to play Pete Alonso, but if I go with Gerrit Cole and Kenta Maeda as my pitchers, no chance I can afford it. That pitching combo will leave you $3,900 per player, and filling in Goldy at the first base spot considering he is starting to possibly finally heat up looks like my plan on this main slate at first glance.

Last but not least, we have a BvP sighting here. Back from his days with the Diamondbacks, Goldy has had plenty of looks at Bumgarner in his career, and has done really well. It is a rare huge sample size, as Goldschmidt is 22-for-66 for a .333 average, with three homers and 10 RBI’s.

OF – Khris Davis – Oakland Athletics – $3,700

Davis missed a few games, and it has been awhile since he last went yard, but I can always get behind him under $4K and hope he connects. It hasn’t worked great this year as his home run numbers are down with just 16 on the season, but he is still driving in runs at a respectable clip, and is always a threat to get a hold of one and take one deep.

In his career, Davis has faced tonight’s Seattle starter Marco Gonzales 11 times, and has just two hits. One of those was a homer though, and surprisingly, the Athletics have the second highest implied run total on the slate at this point. Davis along with Matt Chapman and Marcus Semien is a three-man stack I have my eyes on here.
