Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – Across the Industry!

Welcome to the most important, and final page of the article. On most days, certain value plays will line up well on two or three, or even all of the sites covered in this article.

From the looks of it, I have a piece of every player coming up here on at least two sites in my early lineups, so just because you did not see somebody yet on another site specific slide from earlier, he could be coming up right now.

Early Slate:

SS – Willy Adames – Tampa Bay Rays – ($3,400 DK, $2,700 FD, $6,500 Fantasy Draft)

We have some big bats in great spots to sort through on this slate, and in order to roster a couple of them with Scherzer, my plan of attack will once again to be to target these cheap Rays. I know C.C. Sabathia is somehow pitching well once again this season. Isn’t this guy like 50 by now? Anyways, the Rays bottom of the order is quietly hitting pretty well as of late, and I will take my chances against an aging vet like Sabathia.

More from DFS

Adames has 10 homers this season, already matching his total from 2018. He has never hit more than 11 at any level, so it is safe to say he is developing into a 20 home run per year kind of shortstop. The only downside here, is that Adames is actually more of a reverse splits hitter, having more success against righties this season. For the price though, and the fact that parts of this six through nine stack are cheap and in a favorable spot, I will likely roll out Adames here since I will not be able to afford Francisco Lindor today.

2B/3B – Mike Brosseau – Tampa Bay Rays – ($3,000 DK, $2,400 FD, $5,400 Fantasy Draft)

I promised cheap Rays, and here is my favorite. Brosseau is just six games into his big league career, and he is making his presence felt. He finally went hitless in a game on the 4th of July for the first time, but followed it with a solid 3-for-5 game last night as the Rays battled the Yankees to extra innings.

Brosseau hit two doubles, bringing his batting average up to .421, and he is a lock for me as long as he stays cheap and I need value. Adames, Brosseau, and Zunino looks like a decent DraftKingsGPP stack that can open up quite a bit for the rest of your roster spots.

Main Slate:

SP – Kenta Maeda – Los Angeles Dodgers – ($7,700 DK, $6,700 FD, $15,500

The Padres are hitting well as of late, and Maeda has not been great, hence the low salary. But on a slate with not a ton of value in the hitting spots, I think this could be a solid rebound spot for the veteran right-hander. Maeda is not a big strikeout guy as he mostly induces ground ball outs, but I think once people notice today in their research what Maeda did against the Padres last time he faced them, not only will he be a lock SP2 on DraftKings, he is getting serious GPP consideration from me on FanDuel as well.

It was way back on May 15th, and certainly some things have changed since then, but that day marks the last time Maeda faced the Padres, and it was his best outing of the season. I noted he is not a strikeout pitcher in a sense, but San Diego K’s at a massive clip, and Maeda struck out a season-high 12 that day through 6.2 innings, posting 66 FanDuel points.

Maeda was actually decent in his last outing against the Rockies, but approaching 90 pitches and in a jam in the 4th inning at Coors Field, he was removed from the game before he could go five innings, and collect the win. He did give up two earned runs, but only on three hits, and he struck out five. I always worry about how long he will last with the notorious short leash Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts has for starting pitchers, but this spot at home for Maeda is as good as gets for him.

OF – Jose Martinez – St. Louis Cardinals – ($3,500 DK, $2,700 FD, $6,800 Fantasy Draft)

Martinez joined Goldschmidt in taking Pomeranz deep in the first inning last night, and as long as he is cheap, facing a lefty, and up in that top half of the lineup for the Cardinals I will always consider him. Again, I am pumping the brakes a bit here as we know Pomeranz is not Bumgarner who they will face tonight, but I still can behind these prices on Martinez and Goldy.

The homer last night was only his eighth, but it was his fifth this season against lefties, and he is currently hitting .362 against them as well. Martinez has faced Bumgarner just eight times in his career, but he is 5-for-8 with a home run and a double, nothing to get excited about with a very small sample size, but still worth noting.
