Fantasy Football – Pre-Draft Quarterback Rankings

15 – Matthew Stafford (Detroit Lions)

2018 Stats: 3,777 Yards | 21 TDs | 11 INTs | 66.1% Completion

Matthew Stafford was once a huge quarterback to target in drafts but he also had Calvin Johnson during that time. Stafford still has some nice targets in this Detroit Lions offense. He has a very confident running-back with Kerryon Johnson while they added Danny Amendola to pair with Marvin Jones Jr. This will be a season for Stafford and the Lions to climb back up in their division, especially with the addition of Kerryon Johnson.

14 – Carson Wentz (Philadelphia Eagles)

2018 Stats: 3,074 Yards | 21 TDs | 7 INTs | 69.6% Completion

The Philadelphia Eagles showed they were all in this season with Carson Wentz or they knew they couldn’t afford paying two quarterbacks that could get the job done. Wentz is a promising franchise quarterback but has had some bad luck these past two seasons. He played just 13 games in 2017 and then only payed 11 games last season. Wentz gets to play with DeSean Jackson, an old Philly favorite. Zach Ertz is still there to relief some pressure while Jordan Howard is leading the backfield.

13 – Jared Goff (Los Angeles Rams)

2018 Stats: 4,688 Yards | 32 TDs | 12 INTs | 64.9% Completion

Jared Goff may be in one of the top systems for a quarterback and gets to play with a dominating running-back. Goff showed that he could lead an offense when needed but showed some lack-luster performances in the post season. He has some pretty good weapons with Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp. If Gurley is healthy for the backfield and Tyler Higbee improves his game, Goff can have another good season with the Rams and possibly improve his stat sheet.

12 – Deshaun Watson (Houston Texans)

2018 Stats: 4,165 Yards | 26 TDs | 9 INTs | 68.3% Completion

Deshaun Watson returned for his sophomore season healthy and very locked in. He has the weapons to give him major relief when facing defenses and he also has some very quick feet to work with. While being able to throw pretty successfully, he also rushed for 551 yards. The downside to him running though is the difficulty he has holding on to the football. Watson fumbled the football 9 times throughout the season. He still has Hopkins, Keke Coutee, and Will Fuller V as his weapons with Lamar Miller leading the backfield.

11 –  Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers)

2018 Stats: 3,395 Yards | 24 TDs | 13 INTs | 67.9% Completion

A healthy Carolina team is a very dangerous team when you mix the duel threat quarterback of Cam Newton with Christian McCaffrey together. The Panthers opted to shut down Cam early last season which means he should be fully and healthy to go. Not only is he a pretty good quarterback, he also doesn’t mind running and throwing his body on the line to win games. To go with his passing stats, he also put up 488 yards on the ground last season. He doesn’t have huge weapons in the passing game besides Greg Olsen, but even then that is up for debate. Like I said though, a healthy Cam Newton and Carolina team can equal a pretty dangerous offense.
