2. Khalil Mack will notch 17 sacks

It’s no secret that Khalil Mack is one of the most talented defenders in NFL. He single-handedly transformed the Bears defense after arriving from Oakland last season. It’s interesting to consider what he might be able to pull off after enjoying a full preseason with his teammates and coaching staff.

Last year Mack ended up with 12.5 sacks, but his performance started to tail off towards the end of the season. Expect him to come into this season in better shape. It’s safe to assume the Bears will provide Mack with a healthier environment than what he experienced in Oakland.

If Mack can sustain his effort for an entire 16-game regular season, Bears fans are going to love what he provides their defense. At 27 years old he is squarely in the prime of his career. Mack will never experience a season with a better combination of experience and top-notch athleticism than he’ll enjoy in 2019.

Add all that up and it’s entirely possible Mack can put up an MVP-type season. The fact that the Bears offense should give their defense plenty of leads will give Mack a ton of chances to rush the passer. This will be a career year for the uber-talented defender. He’ll flirt with 20 sacks and end the season with a healthy total of 17.
