Fantasy Football Rankings: QB Strength of schedule

Deshaun Watson (13)  – Despite getting sacked a league-high 62 times in 2018, Watson still finished as the QB4 overall. When looking over his schedule for the 2019 season, the main thing that sticks out is his juicy matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers week 16 in the fantasy football championship.

It’s going to be exciting to see how Watson does start the season with Deandre Hopkins, Will Fuller, and Keke Coutee all 100% healthy. I’m also stoked that the Texans spent 2 of their first 3 draft picks in the NFL draft by adding Tytus Howard and Max Scharping, in attempts to improve the atrocious Texans OL.

Marcus Mariota (14)– If I’m being honest with you, I’m not expecting much relevance out of Marcus Mariota this year when it comes to fantasy. His top yearly finish in his career was finishing as the QB13 in 2016. Looking at the Titans 2019 schedule, I don’t see any trends of an easy or hard matchup.

The schedule is basically flip-flopping weekly in terms of competition. Under HC Mike Vrabel, I’m expecting this offense to revolve around Derrick Henry in the running department, but it will be interesting to see if Corey Davis finally puts it all together.

Lastly, if this was going to be the year Mariota broke out, you would think 2019 would be the year with a healthy Delanie Walker, offseason signing of Adam Humphries, and drafting AJ Brown.

Mitch Trubisky (15) – 2018 was a solid year overall for Trubisky. He finished as the QB15 and missed 2 games. Entering 2019, he is currently being drafted as the QB22 which is a value considering where he finished last year even though he was injured.

Something worth noting about his SOS is that in the fantasy playoffs weeks 15 and 16, he matches up with the Packers and the Chiefs, who are below average defenses when it comes to allowing fantasy points to the QB position.

You can expect Trubisky to be even better in year 2 of the spectacular offense ran by HC Matt Nagy. We have to mention that the Bears quietly got 2 underrated rookies WR’s in Riley Ridley and Emmanuel Hall. Neither should start right away but it’s never bad to have depth at the WR position.
