Fantasy Football Rankings – Pre-Draft Wide Receiver Rankings
15. Amari Cooper (Dallas Cowboys)
2018 Stats: 75 Receptions | 1,005 Yards | 7 TDs | 13.4 YPC
Amari Cooper got a major upgrade after week 6 when he was traded to the Dallas Cowboys but his season did not show any consistency. Cooper was very hit and miss but when he showed up, he showed out. He was involved in 84% of the snaps while holding a low share of targets at 20% but when it came to the end-zone targets he held a 32%. Cooper is demanding for a big contract from the Cowboys this season so we may see a different version of the wide receiver.
14. Brandin Cooks (Los Angeles Rams)
2018 Stats: 80 Receptions | 1,204 Yards | 5 TDs | 15.1 YPC
The Superbowl runner ups, Los Angeles Rams, had a pretty solid receiving core and Brandin Cooks was at the front of it. Cooks was involved in 96% of the offensive snaps and had a target share of 22%. When it came to the end-zone though, Cook only had 13% of the share which was a small jump from his 2017 season. Cooks was also nothing but consistent last season which is something that he will look to continue this season to help keep the Rams at the top of the NFC once again.
13. Julian Edelman (New England Patriots)
2018 Stats: 74 Receptions | 850 Yards | 6 TDs | 11.5 YPC
A season that started a little late for Julian Edelman due to an ACL injury in 2017, the man returned with some vengeance to make up for the time missed. Edelman had a snap share of 88.4% while playing in the slot for 45% of those snaps. He also had a target share of 26% but a lower end-zone target share with 21.1%. An amazing stat Edelman held last season with just 12 games is that he only had one game below 10 fantasy points in which he had 9 fantasy points versus the Minnesota Vikings.
12. A.J. Green (Cincinnati Bengals)
2018 Stats: 46 Receptions | 694 Yards | 6 TDs | 15.1 YPC
A.J. Green had to end his 2018 season with a toe sprain which the Bengals elected to sit him for precautionary reasons. In the 9 games that Green played in, he did record 6 touchdowns while averaging 15.1 yards per catch. Green was involved in 83% of the snaps in those 9 games while holding a target share of 23.5%. He also was involved in a good amount of end-zone target shares with 52%. While he was ranked 16th in fantasy points with 16.6 last season, we do not know how healthy he is from the toe sprain so he’ll be a receiver to watch for before your draft day.
11. Adam Thielen (Minnesota Vikings)
2018 Stats: 113 Receptions | 1,373 Yards | 9 TDs | 12.2 YPC
Adam Thielen had a season for the books last season and he’s looking to continue the dominant play once again this season. Thielen played 100% of the offensive snaps last season and almost played half of those snaps in the slot. Thielen held a target share of 26% slightly down from last season while his end-zone target shares dropped from 30% to 26%. Even with the shares dropping last season, Thielen was able to bring in the 8th most fantasy points at the position with 19.1 per game.
