FanDuel MLB DFS Breakdown – 7/15: Lock in Lucas Giolito
By Joe Metz
FanDuel MLB – Top Catchers / First Basemen
Top Play: Daniel Murphy | COL | $4,100
Get ready for Coors, Coors, and more Coors. Murphy has been on a tear as of late (8 hits in L3 with 2 HR, 5 RBIs) and has posted a 0.347 wOBA and 0.206 ISO against righties this season.
His opponent, Dereck Rodriguez, has allowed a 0.349 wOBA against lefties this season while striking out only 15.3% and walking 14.4%. This should be a smash spot (shoutout to Adam Strangis) for Murphy at a reasonable price for it being in Coors.
Value Play: Joc Pederson | LAD | $2,600
Seeing Joc at 1B is odd enough, but the price is even odder. Sure, he’s been cold, but his ceiling is always massive and he’s had a phenomenal overall year. He gets to take on Zach Eflin of the Phillies, who for the most part has been serviceable. His struggle, however, is with left-handed hitters. He’s allowed a 0.374 wOBA and 0.280 ISO to lefties with a 45.7% hard-contact rate.
Joc and his 0.385 wOBA and 0.310 ISO against righties should be licking his chops for tonight and so should you.
