Question 2: Submitted by Conor McNamara- Can Carson Wentz be trusted in Fantasy Football this season?

Answer: Right off the bat, I’m going to say yes! You can trust Carson Wentz in fantasy football in 2019. Let’s review how Wentz performed in 2018 first. He missed the first 2 games of the season before returning in week 3 and then played up until week 14 before getting injured.

In weeks 4 and 5 against the Colts and Titans, he didn’t look like he was 100% and ultimately struggled in those games. In weeks 5-10 is where we saw the Carson Wentz we know and love. In those 6 weeks, the Eagles had a bye week so they only played 5 games in that span.

During those 5 games, Wentz had 4 games where he finished as a top-10 fantasy QB. The Eagles showed full confidence in him after giving him a 4-year, $128 million dollar extension back in early June.

Eagles HC Doug Pederson has been raving about Wentz all offseason, saying that Wentz is over his knee injury and has also shed some pounds. Entering his 4th year in the league, Wentz is 26 and was a top-5 fantasy QB in 2017. Entering the 2019 season, this might be the best offense Wentz has commanded.

The elite OL is healthy and that also added rookie Andre Dillard, who was one of my favorite tackles in the 2019 NFL draft. Speaking of the draft, they added Miles Sanders to joing the loaded committee of Jordan Howard, Corey Clement, and Josh Adams.

As far as the receiving corps, he still has his elite TE Zach Ertz, red-zone machine WR Alshon Jeffery, and added deep-threat Desean Jackson in free agency and drafted JJ Arcega-Whiteside. I think in 2019, Wentz will bounce back to 2017 form and show the league that the Eagles are something to be afraid of.
