Russell Wilson (91)

Yes, a rating of 91 is still too low for Russell Wilson, who just might be the best quarterback in the NFL behind Patrick Mahomes. It is difficult to fathom how Wilson, who practically carries the Seattle Seahawks on his back, is rated lower than Andrew Luck and three points lower than Philip Rivers at 94. If Wilson had Rivers’ supporting cast with the Los Angeles Chargers, he would be setting NFL records.

Brian Schottenheimer is the only thing holding back Wilson at this point, because he’d put putting up outrageous numbers if the Seahawks weren’t so focused on “establishing the run” to meme-tastic levels.

Wilson was fourth in the NFL in passing touchdowns last season, but he was second in touchdown percentage behind only Mahomes. He did this while throwing just seven interceptions, so only Mahomes and Drew Brees averaged more adjusted yards per pass attempt, per Pro-Football Reference.

It’s laughable that Rivers is rated 94 and Tom Brady is rated 96 when Wilson’s numbers and play on the field blew both men out of the water. Wilson took considerably better care of the football and was more efficient than both quarterbacks, while playing with an inferior supporting cast.

By rating, Wilson is not a top-five quarterback, when he’s clearly been at that level in carrying a mediocre Seahawks team to the postseason in 2018.
