MLB DFS – Building Our Bats:

It has been a while since I have been able to write about m favorite stack in MLB DFS, but as soon as I saw Zach Eflin pitching in Philadelphia tonight against the Los Angeles Dodgers, I knew exactly where my core bats were coming from.

Put simply, this is a nightmare match-up for Eflin who is giving up a .280 ISO mark to LHB this season with a 45% fly-ball rate and a 45% hard contact rate to match. The Dodgers ave four batters with .200+ ISO marks against RHP this season with Cody Bellinger and Joc Pederson both well over .300 ISO marks.

The same four batters with .200+ ISO marks against RHP (Bellinger, Joc, Seager, and Muncy) all have the same mark against the slider which is the primary secondary offering Eflin has when facing a lefty. Eflin comes into this game in poor recent form as well, with a 56% hard contact rate over his last 3 starts.

At home this season, Eflin has given up 2 HR/9 with a 41% HC rate to LHB so go ahead and fire up the core 4 Dodgers lefties and you can even extend this to Alex Verdugo if you want to go lefty-heavy with a 5 man Dodgers stack.

If you are paying down at pitching, then all eyes will likely be on Coors Field and it is hard to argue with jamming in some exposure to this game considering what we saw over the weekend. With 90-degree temperatures once again and a double-header on tap, we could see fireworks from both offenses here tonight with my focus being on Colorado against RHP Derek Rodriguez.

Rodriguez has been lit up by lefties this season to the tune of a .226 ISO and 45% HC rate and let’s be honest, his .185 ISO and 49% HC rate to RHP is not exactly a reason to be shy with your Rockies stack here this evening.

The top 5 in this Rockies stack all have .200+ ISO marks against RHP this season which makes a 5 man Rockies stack of Charlie Blackmon, Trevor Story, Nolan Arenado, David Dahl and Daniel Murphy feel like an easy way to use your salary savings if paying down at pitcher.
