MLB DFS Pitching Primer: First Look

Here are the pitching match-ups for this evening’s games. The home pitcher is listed second and the Vegas odds are listed in parenthesis when available. Remember that some pitchers have extremely large home/road splits.

Vegas lines and implied run totals can be tricky to navigate at times and they do change throughout the day, but they are certainly a great place to start your MLB DFS research. For cash games, I am often looking for large home favorites, while anything goes for GPPs.

Blake Snell vs. James Paxton (-140)

Clayton Kershaw (-160) vs. Zach Eflin

Trent Thornton vs. Rick Porcello (-185)

Daniel Norris vs. Adam Plutko (-180)

Luis Castillo vs. Kyle Hendricks

Max Fried (-110) vs. Adrian Houser

Joe Musgrove vs. Miles Mikolas (-140)

Lucas Giolito (-125) vs. Jake Junis

Framber Valdez (projected reliever) vs. Griffin Canning

Dereck Rodriguez vs. Chi Chi Gonzalez

At the time of this article’s publishing, we are still missing the Vegas lines for several of these games. Keep in mind that the Colorado-San Francisco game is the second game of a doubleheader, but I anticipate it will have a pretty large total once it opens. There are 20 pitchers to choose from tonight and I’m going to narrow my pitching pool down to four arms that I like for cash and GPP contests tonight. Let’s start with the pitcher you can trust in your cash games first.
