DraftKings PGA: 2019 British Open Picks
Justin Rose 9,900
Rose has not played since the US Open, which scares me. However, he looked great at the US Open until a poor 4th round, in route to a T3 finish. He is a superb talent and has quite a bit of success at The Open. Rose finished T2 last year and T6 in 2015. He is an excellent ball-striker, an exceptional scrambler, and he is English and thus he is very familiar with the links-style of golf. The value is too enticing to pass up.
Francesco Molinari 9,400
It is incredibly difficult to repeat at any major championship, but Brooks has shown that it is not impossible. Molinari has been playing out of his mind golf for the course of about two years, and I see him playing well here. Ball-striking travels. I would have preferred had his brother been in the tournament this week as well, however, I will reluctantly roster the better Molinari. His value is not excellent like most of my other plays this week, however you have to roster some guys that just deserve a play despite the price. That is Frank Molinari for me this week, an excellent ball-striker and scrambler.
Henrik Stenson 8,400
Stenson, like Molinari, is another golfer that makes his living with his irons and not his putter. Henrik is likely the best ball-striker in the field, and he played really well last week at the Scottish Open. In fact, Stenson has been nails for the past few months. His season started sour, but he has shown out since with stellar ball-striking. He has a T8, T9, and T4 in his past 3 events, and may be the best links golfer in the field.
