FanDuel MLB daily lineups July 17th: Early only & main slate

FanDuel MLB: Summary and Example Lineups for the Early Only and Main Slates on July 17th 2019
For the Early Only slate, Chris Archer is a good GPP flier play at pitcher, and Ponce de Leon is a great value pick. But my favorite all-around starting pitcher this afternoon is Sonny Gray. He’s fanning hitters at a high rate, and has been consistently good against great offensive teams.
For offensive stacks this afternoon, I’m likely creating some sort of mix with the Reds, Cardinals, Braves, and Twins. The Twins are my favorite stack of the Early Only slate, so I’m likely grabbing at least four of those players. The Reds come in a close second.
Gerrit Cole is always a great option at pitcher, but he’s too expensive for the Main slate. Fortunately, Robbie Ray and Mike Clevinger have fantastic match-ups on Wednesday night. Between the two, I’m leaning toward Ray.
I spent a good deal of my salary on the pitcher position, likely, but that’s OK. Fortunately the Royals have a great offensive stacking opportunity on Wednesday night, and they have tons of value within their lineup.
I’m going to use the Royals value, for the Main slate, to also stack some combination of the Dodgers, Astros, and D-backs. But, if you’re playing any Dodgers plays for this slate, keep an eye on the weather. The hot and muggy east coast could see a good deal of showers and thunderstorms impacting this slate.
With that summary in mind, here’s a look at sample lineups for the Early Only and Main FanDuel MLB slates for Wednesday, July 17th:
