Slate Overview: One of the reasons I have always set Picks and Pivots up to be about roster construction and strategy versus “best plays” is that I think talking through builds and the possibilities are a great way to help you/I think differently about slates.

Nobody is going to argue that Bauer and Thor are bad plays today and they will likely be written up in multiple spots, heck on this site alone they will be. What is really fascinating about this build is you can get a full on 6 man Yankees stack alongside those aces AND grab two elite one-off bats like Davis and Bregman.

Yes, the Yankees have to face Charlie Morton – I get it – however, that opponent and the “low” 5 IRT for the Yankees likely leave them as an over-looked stack. If they were facing even a league-average pitcher today, the IRT would be 6+ and the pricing would be such that stacking them alongside aces would be impossible.

So the argument is you are betting on the talent, the continuous onslaught of elite power after power in this Yankee line-up and in a great hitting environment. I could see mediocre offenses like the Reds or Cardinals becoming popular stacks today and all the way the talent level of this Yankees team just blows them out of the water.

Listen, Morton could go out and dominate – he has done it time and time again this year – but if the Yankees are the Yankees – you could be buying into them at one of the lowest price points of the year. Good luck all!
