Slot Receiver

At the end of the 2018 NFL season,  the Oakland Raiders had Jordy Nelson atop their depth chart at wide receiver, and very little else behind him. One of the keys to the organization improving this roster as a whole was to fix the issue at wide receiver which they did in a big way this offseason by adding some elite talent.

Antonio Brown was brought in via a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he will slide in as the top wideout on the depth chart this season. Behind him, expect Tyrell Williams to fill the role as WR2 in this offense, thanks to his big-play ability, and his track record for getting open and really stretching the defense.

Outside of those two guys, the depth chart is wide open, and it will be interesting to see who starts the season in the slot for the Raiders. The organization has a number of different ways they can go, including Ryan Grant, or J.J. Nelson, but it could be a rookie that ends up winning the job with a solid camp.

Hunter Renfrow was the most consistent wide receiver on a  ton of good Clemson teams during his time in college, and is the perfect slot guy for Jon Gruden’s offense. With incredible hands, and the ability to go over the middle and make tough catches, Raiders fans are going to love him, as is quarterback Derek Carr.
