Slate Overview: I am sure the other writers at FanSided Fantasy will see this sample line-up today and as they normally do, give me the “He stays on brand” digs they seemingly do every day but this is a formula I have used more than any other on FantasyDraft this year and have found success.

Any time you can get two ace arms wit 30+ fantasy point ceilings and still be able to go full-on 6 man stack with a power offense like the Rays, I am always going to have GPP interest.

Now, it means enacting my #FreeSquare strategy but guys and gals, this is baseball, the highest variance sport we have and when you find guys at punt prices, all it takes is a few seeing-eye singles, maybe a run scored and BAM you have a guy who crushes value.

Last night, I used Juan Lagares and Brian McCann as pure punts, both at less than 5% ownership and they combined for 12 fantasy points at $9.7 of combined salary. Just for comparison sake, Nelson Cruz cost $9K, got 3 fantasy points and was one of the chalkiest plays on the slate.

Now, I am not saying Juan Lagares is better than Nelson Cruz. Please, I am a Mets fan, I know better, but the point is, in baseball even the best hitters on the planet can get 0’s, so I have no issue working in a guy like Yadiel Rivera at $3.9K here to help meet my 3 team batter requirement on FantasyDraft, when you consider what else it opens up and this is a guy who has put up no less than 7 fantasy points in each of his last three starts.

Two stud arms, a 6 man stack and a #FreeSquare – as they say, Picks and Pivots stays on brand.

Have a great weekend all!
