MLB DFS Pitching Primer: First Look

Here are the pitching match-ups for this afternoon’s and evening’s games. The home pitcher is listed second and the Vegas odds are listed in parenthesis when available. Remember that some pitchers have extremely large home/road splits.

Vegas lines and implied run totals can be tricky to navigate at times and they do change throughout the day, but they are certainly a great place to start your MLB DFS research. For cash games, I am often looking for large home favorites, while anything goes for GPPs.

David Price (-230) vs. John Means

Kyle Freeland vs. J.A. Happ (-220)

Jake Arrieta vs. Jordan Lyles (-105)

Marcus Stroman (-160) vs. Jordan Zimmerman

Reynaldo Lopez vs. Brendan McKay

Mike Montgomery vs. Shane Bieber (-250)

Adam Wainwright (-105) vs. Tyler Mahle

Patrick Corbin vs. Julio Teheran

Chris Bassitt vs. Jake Odorizzi (-125)

Mike Minor vs. Justin Verlander (-215)

Jhoulys Chacin (-120) vs. Taylor Clarke

Jaime Barria vs. Mike Leake

Zac Gallen vs. Hyun-Jin Ryu (-290)

Jacob DeGrom (-190) vs. Tyler Beede

We have the most loaded pitching slate I can remember in some time with five stud pitchers priced at 10k or more on each of the sites and a number of solid second-tier options as well. I’m going my best to give you my favorite picks at each price point as it doesn’t help you much just to recommend all the high-end arms tonight.

There are some tough decisions to be made and being selective with which aces we roster tonight is going to make all the difference in whether or not you’re able to cash your lineups at the end of the night. I’m going to do my rankings a little differently tonight as rank pitchers in tiers based on their prices.
