DraftKings MLB Turbo Plays:

The turbo actually has better pitching options and fewer stack spots. Lucas Giolito has a 2.92 ERA in nine road starts, and the Trop is a pitcher’s park. Giolito hasn’t been as sharp after a dominant June, so if you want to pivot off of him I understand. Where do you think you’re going though? Yarbrough for $9,300 seems insane with the short leash he has and the bevy of righties he’ll face. On top of that, you need two pitchers, not just one!

Trent Thornton against the Tigers looks solid, and honestly, so does Daniel Norris against the Jays. Norris picked up 2.9 DraftKings points in two scoreless innings against the Jays earlier this year. Thornton dominated Detroit for 26.1 DraftKings points, giving up just two hits in five innings with eight strikeouts. I’m on Thornton and Giolito for my pitching, which leaves just $4,037 per slot for hitters.

Completely punting catcher with Luke Maile is a great way to recoup some of that, so I’m going there. That moves us up to a much more manageable $4,300 per slot.

Which pitcher do we pick on though? All have been pretty solid. I like some Jays righties, namely Vlad Jr and Teoscar Hernandez, against Norris. Some Sox righties make sense as well. Eloy being out leaves a huge hole. I do like Jose Abreu and Moncada, but I wont pay the premium for Moncada over Vlad. I will pay for Lourdes Gurriel just because I can.

That leaves $4,100 for SS and two OF slots. Ryan Goins has started strong for the Sox, so I understand using him for cheap. Then we can still use a one off Austin Meadows against Giolito with either Leury Garcia or Christin Stewart in the outfield.
