FanDuel MLB – Top Second Basemen

Top Play: Max Muncy | LAD | $3,800

Sticking with a Dodgers lefty here, Max Muncy has enjoyed quite the season in LA. He’s posted a 0.397 wOBA and a 0.288 ISO against right-handed pitching with an elite 15.7% walk rate, playing into the weakness of Alcantara, who’s posted an 11.7% walk rate against lefties.

On top of that, Muncy has been absolutely smoking the ball against righties to the tune of a 44.2% hard contact rate and recording 42.7% of his batted balls over 95 mph.

Alcantara, like mentioned, has mitigated damage for the most part, but if the regression is coming, the Dodgers are the team to exploit that.

Value Play: David Fletcher | LAA | $2,700

While Fletcher’s advanced stats don’t jump off the page at you (0.297 wOBA vs LHP), he continues to get the job done out of the leadoff spot night in and night out. He’s recorded multi-hit appearances in 5 of his last 10 outings and holds a team-best 3.2% strikeout rate against lefties coupled with a 9.7% walk rate.

His matchup, Yusei Kikuchi, has struggled to miss bats against righties (16.3% strikeout rate) and has allowed a 0.350 wOBA and a 35.1% hard-contact rate to RHH. After getting shut down by Mike Leake (yes, you read that right) last night, I expect the Angels to bounce back in a big way and Fletcher is a cheap way to gain exposure to the top of their lineup.
