FanDuel MLB – Top Third Basemen

Top Play: Jose Ramirez | CLE | $4,100

Jakob Junis pitched an absolute gem in his last outing, but I wouldn’t expect the same results tonight against the red-hot Indians and that may even keep the ownership down. On the season as a whole, Junis has still allowed a 0.360 wOBA to LHH with a 42.7% hard-contact rate and an ISO of 0.196.

Jose Ramirez has been red hot as of late (double-digit FDP in 7 of last 8 games) and has posted a 0.342 wOBA and a 0.175 ISO against righties over the span of 2018-19. It seems like the early-season funk is behind him, and he’s in the midst of his best stretch of the season, so I would advise getting on board.

Value Play: Colin Moran | PIT | $2,600

Continuing the theme of stacking lefties against Zach Eflin, the Pirates LHH also provide a bit of salary relief that could be vital to building lineups around Clayton Kershaw tonight.

As mentioned previously, Eflin is surrendering a 0.374 wOBA and a 0.276 ISO against LHH on the season and has struggled to strike them out, posting a K-rate under 20% (18.5%).

Colin Moran has quietly brutalized righties this season to the tune of a 0.361 wOBA, 0.203 ISO and comes into this matchup with a CXwOBA of 0.420 (expected wOBA when contact is made). He gives you middle-of-the-order exposure to a phenomenal stack that should come with low ownership at a cheap price.

Honorable Mention(s): Rafael Devers, Yuli Gurriel, Kyle Seager
