Fantasy Football Rankings: RB Strength Of Schedule
7. Arizona Cardinals– A lot of people blamed David Johnson‘s “bad season” (still finished as the RB10 last year) on Josh Rosen and the Cardinals OL but how about the fact that the Cardinals had a tough SOS for the RB position last year. Even though he’s in the tough NFC West division, he still gets matchups against the Lions, Panthers, Bengals, Giants, Buccaneers, and Steelers. With Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury in town, Johnson is a lock to finish the year as a top-10 RB given that he is a premier bell cow. Actually, scratch that, DJ will be a top-5 RB in 2019.
8. Minnesota Vikings– Dalvin Cook and rookie Alexander Mattison have to be excited when looking at there SOS in 2019. When Cook was healthy during weeks 12-16, he was actually the RB6 during that span, ranking ahead of players like Mixon, Chubb, Kamara, and Gurley. Besides facing the Bears twice a year, there really isn’t much to fear. The 1st three weeks feature the Falcons, Packers, and Raiders. the tandem has the Lions, Redskins, and the Chiefs in a 3 game, middle of the season stretch as well. Overall, Cook could flirt with being an RB1 this year while Mattison remains one of the best handcuffs in fantasy, who could make an impact without a Cook injury.
9. Carolina Panthers– It’s a little SOS boost, going from 14th SOS last year, to 9th this year but I know Christian Mccaffrey will happily take it. A juicy start to the season is evident as he plays the Buccaneers not once, but twice in the first 2 weeks of the season. I mean honestly, I don’t even know why I have CMAC in the RB SOS as this man is practically a WR, given the fact that he had 107 receptions in 2018 which led all running backs, and was 7th in the league. After falling outside the top-10 in rush attempts last year, maybe the Panthers will run him more given the 9th easiest SOS!
