Fantasy Football Rankings: RB Strength Of Schedule
19. Denver Broncos- With reports coming out that Phillip Lindsay has began practicing without limitations, I’m officially hopping off the Royce Freeman bandwagon, and I’ll board Lindsay’s. The schedule isn’t all that great, but Lindsay showed no mercy to tough defenses last year. He had great games against the Seahawks, Rams, Chargers, and Chiefs last year. Lindsay is currently going as the RB23, putting him in the middle of the 5th round typically. I’m not against it to be honest. The Broncos offense would be smart to utilize Lindsay similar to what they did in 2018.
20. Oakland Raiders– This is interesting to see the Raiders went from the 5th ranked SOS in 2018, to the 20th ranked SOS in 2019. Rookie Josh Jacobs is not getting any handouts in year one. His first 5 career games will be against the Broncos, Chiefs, Vikings, Colts, and Bears. Wanna know about his fantasy schedule? I don’t know if you wanna know. The semi’s and finals include week 15 and 16 matchups against the Jaguars and Chargers. His only 2 easy games are against the Bengals and Jets in week 11 and 12. Seeing a schedule this tough, he takes a hit in my rankings.
21. Jacksonville Jaguars– Seeing Leonard Fournette ranked in this range isn’t reassuring. He is one of the better running backs in the league but he comes with so much baggage in the injury department. Schedule wise, the Jaguars go from the 7th ranked SOS to the 21st this year is concerning. Looking at his good games last year, Fournette did his numbers against week run defenses. Being in the AFC South will never help as the Texans, Colts, and Jaguars all have good run defenses. Other tough defenses include the Broncos, Panthers, Saints, and Chargers. Fortunately for Fournette, he is one of the last bell-cows left in the league so he can still be fantasy relevant with volume, even with tough matchups.
