Fantasy Football Rankings: RB Strength Of Schedule
22. New Orleans Saints– I know the Saints signed Latavius Murray this offseason to replace Mark Ingram, but you can expect an increased workload to thid year RB, Alvin Kamara. The Saints had the 23rd ranked SOS in 2018, so with this being familiar territory, I’m not worried about the tough games Kamara will be playing in 2019. For example, Kamara had 8 games where he finished as a top-10 back last year with his 23rd ranked SOS. In 2019, he could very well be the top back in fantasy with a slightly increased workload. For those interested, Kamara gets the Titans in week 16, which could be a huge game.
23. Philadelphia Eagles– Before I get into this schedule, just know that I’m not drafting any Eagles RB’s in fantasy football this year. I love Doug Pederson as a head coach, but not when it comes to fantasy. He is known for running a running back by committee and this year won’t be any different. You got Miles Sanders, Jordan Howard, Corey Clement, Wendell Smallwood, and they signed Darren Sproles to a 1-year deal. The only good matchups this year are the 2 against the Redskins, then against the Bills and Dolphins. Don’t waste your breath or roster spots on trying to guess this nightmare in 2019.
24. Washington Redskins– At first you see 24th ranked SOS and it scares you off, but Adrian Peterson ran for 1,000+ yards last year with the 30th ranked SOS in 2018. Derrius Guice has been on and off with a hamstring injury while recovering from an ACL injury. While we have heard talks about how he should be ready for camp, I’m still leaning in Peterson’s direction for early-down work. The Redskins have a tough 1st 3 weeks, playing the Eagles, Cowboys, and the Bears, but it’s getting better. The next 3 weeks feature the Giants, Patriots, and the Dolphins. Although the schedule as a whole is rather tough, it’s worth noting they get a home game vs the Giants in week 16 for the fantasy championship!
