Fantasy Football Rankings: RB Strength Of Schedule
25. Dallas Cowboys- I mean when you talk about taking a player like Ezekiel Elliott 1st overall in your drafts, you’d like him to have an easy schedule right? Well, the Cowboys had the 27th ranked SOS in 2018 and we have seen what Zeke did. Last year, we saw zero bad weeks from Elliott, as he finished as an RB2 or better every single game last year. In the 1st 3 weeks this year, “Feed Zeke” will be trending on Twitter thanks to matchups against the Giants, Redkins, and the Dolphins. I see tough matchups like the Saints, Packers, Bears, Rams, etc but when you get 30 touches a game, we won’t see many bad games out of Elliott.
26. Los Angeles Chargers– Melvin Gordon was a monster last year but did it have to do with the easy 8th ranked SOS? As long as Gordon doesn’t hold out for the Chargers this year, I’m not worried about his 26th rank SOS. Gordon showed in 2018 that it didn’t matter who he played against, he was gonna ball out. Similar to Ezekiel Elliott, Gordon had zero bust games and he played tough defenses like the Rams, Seahawks, Broncos, and the Ravens, He has tough and easy match ups sprinkled throughout the year but Gordon and the Chargers get a home game week 16 against the Oakland Raiders, and that’s one of the best matchups you could ask for.
27. Indianapolis Colts– I am a big believer in Marlon Mack the player, but this schedule is really tough. Mack exploded vs teams like the Raiders, Titans, and Jets last year, but struggled against tough run defenses like the Jaguars (twice) and the Texans. Entering 2019, it’s evident that the Colts can’t escape the AFC South Texans, Jaguars, and Titans, but it doesn’t end there. On top of that, you add on tough teams like the Chargers, Broncos, Saints, and Panthers.
28. Green Bay Packers– This is one of those situations where you’re more of a believer in talent than “who they go against’. Aaron Jones has the 20th ranked SOS in 2018 and was an absolute baller when given the workload last season. In the 7 game span, he was given the full workload in weeks 8-14, Jones finished as a top-16 RB in 6 of those games. Notable tough matchups in that span included Rams, Seahawks, Vikings, and the Cardinals. We saw this in the QB SOS, Packers got a tough schedule this year, but do you think that stops Aaron Rodgers and company this year? I’m gonna vote no on that one.
