MLB DFS Pitching Plays

Blake Snell – Well McKay may not have taken advantage of this spot last night, but Snell is poised to put up a monster performance. This White Sox lineup has a 25% K rate currently against LHP, to go with a 48.7% GB rate, and 27% HC. Blake is priced at only 9.5 k on FanDuel, which is a complete joke, he has been one of the most unlucky pitchers in Baseball this season. With a 3.36 xFIP, but a bloated 4.55 ERA, 32% K rate, and a 40% GB rate. He will see seven RHH where he K rate is 33%.

Pitch Mix – Snell is very Fastball heavy, considering its an amazing pitch, I don’t blame him. Recently it was being used at 60%, while he decreased his Curve usage to 15%. This will be something to monitor, and I won’t look too much into it. That Curve and his Change get around 55% whiffs, so I would assume that Curve usage goes back up for this game. The Fastball is 95 MPH and moves over ten inches vertically, which is something I have discussed previously with pitchers such as Lucas Giolito, and Justin Verlander.

GPP Punt

Daniel Norris – Please note this is not a great play, but if you are looking for a deep GPP punt play, Norris is very interesting. He is a reverse splits pitcher, meaning as a lefty, he does far worse against LHH. The good thing is that he might only see two lefties in this entire match-up. I feel like people may gravitate to the other side of the game instead, but I just do not trust Thornton at all. Norris has a 20% K rate against RHH, and a 47% GB rate, with 38% HC. Toronto will hit around 41% GB, and Norris can grind this game out and pitch six-seven innings, if he can avoid giving up too many home runs. At that price, he is worth a shot if you need the salary.
