MLB DFS Pitching Plays

Luis Castillo – Castillo is somebody who I have had my eye on since last season. He has some really nasty strikeout pitches, to go along with a really solid Sinker to draw ground-balls. The Cardinals are just not a very good team. They have a 23% K rate, and only a .160 ISO as a unit. Luis owns a 3.51 xFIP, 29.3% K rate, 57% GB rate, and 35.2% HC. Keep in mind depending on what lineup they play, the potential for more strikeout could be increased.

Pitch Mix – Recently Luis dropped his Fastball usage, and increased the Sinker usage. His Change is filthy, and it’s also his most used pitch at 37%. Speaking of which, the Change gets slightly over 50% whiffs, the Slider is getting around 60%, with the Fastball most recently getting 40% whiffs. The Sinker, and Slider are getting over 60% GB as well. Castillo has really solid velocity on his pitches, and as I mentioned that Change is very difficult to hit. This Cards team has a good bit of whiffs to the Changeup, and they have a low ISO on his Slider, and Fastball. I love him today, and he has massive upside.
