MLB DFS Pitching Gems July 20: Griffin Is Too Cheap
MLB DFS Pitching Plays
Well to wrap everything up, we have some really solid pitchers to use in these two slates today. Blake Snell will be the obvious cash game play for the early slate, and it is near impossible to fade him if playing it. My prediction is that he gets 10+ strikeouts, and over 60 FanDuel points. Daniel Norris is a solid, but risky GPP play on that slate.
On our main slate, we have some really great arms to choose from. Kershaw who is the safest options against the lowly Marlins. I can really see him going seven-eight innings, and grinding out a 50 FanDuel point game with relative ease. Luis Castillo who has some of the best overall ceiling on the day, and comes with not very much risk. Paul DeJong is really the main threat against him, and even if he takes him deep it will likely be a solo shot. Lastly we have Griffin Canning who I guarantee you comes in at low ownership. That price is just so cheap, you can load up on the entire one-four of a Boston stack if you wanted with relative ease. That kind of roster flexibility has been a game changer this season. People who have figured out what pitchers to punt with, and more often than not taking down GPP’s. For instance, before he got busted for PED’s, Frankie Montas almost won me a live final ticket, he was priced at below 8K, against the Tigers in a high-upside spot, and he exploded. I loaded up on Dodger bats, and was ten points out of first place for that contest. Just a little personal reference point as to the advantage of paying down for a guy like Canning.
