Fantasy Football Mailbag- Monday, July 22nd

Question 3: Submitted by Eric Ashley- What round are you interested in drafting Mike Williams?

Answer- Right now, Mike Williams is being taken in the middle of the 5th round, being selected as the WR24. Being honest, I’m not opposed to drafting him around that spot because the upside Williams possesses is unreal!

Mike Williams put up an absurd 3.56 fantasy points per touch last year, which led the WR position. A truly unbelievable stat was that Williams scored a TD once every 4.3 receptions. Obviously heading into 2019, that stat isn’t sustainable, but you can expect more receptions and yards, with similar TD upside.

He’s currently being drafted around other WR’s like Jarvis Landry, D.J. Moore, Tyler Boyd, and Sammy Watkins. In my opinion, Williams has the same floor with them but has even more upside. Out of all of those names, it’s evident that he has the best chance of outperforming his respective ADP.

In fact, I’d take Williams over WR’s like Cooper Kupp and Tyler Lockett, 2 WR’s currently being drafted ahead of Williams. Kupp has to deal with Woods/Cooks, and Lockett is apart of one of the heaviest teams in football, and teams will know to key on him with Doug Baldwin officially retired. In review, I see zero problems taking Mike Williams in the 5th round, as he has league-winning upside.
