Daily Fantasy Golf: FanDuel PGA – Low Tier Picks ($9,000-$10,000)

Webb Simpson – $9,500 – (Cash)

Simpson made his seventh straight cut last week. which dates back to his T-5 at the Masters. Keeping his struggles to a minimum on Sunday at Royal Portrush led to a T-30, and it was just his second finish outside the top-20 in this stretch. He T-2 at the RBC Canadian Open for his best finish and added better than top-20’s at the RBC Hertitage, the Wells Fargo Championship, and the U.S. Open.

This is really as consistent as it gets at this price, and Simpson is always a golfer I gravitate towards for safety in these types of stacked fields. He always seems to be a bargain when he is among the best in the world, and he usually tends to hold his own, at least for most of 2019. I won’t be as GPP heavy on Webb as I was last week, but I think he will be a popular cash game play.

Patrick Reed – $9,300 – (Cash)

The price has finally dropped here where I cannot ignore one of the golfers who I absolutely hate to roster the most. I normally am a fan of the underdog, villain type, but Reed just comes off as very unlikeable, and he shows it well on the golf course.

I don’t mind a guy who lets his emotions show a bit, but I just think Reed tends to do it in the wrong ways for the most part. Anyways, biases aside because this is DFS, everyone’s least favorite golfer Patrick Reed is way underpriced this week and is trending in the right direction with his recent play.

In going balanced, Reed is as low as I will go with my cash lineup this week. He has been playing quite a bit which I like compared to those that had the lighter schedule this season, and I also like the fact that he stayed mentally tough in the elements at the Open Championship last week.

While others struggled, Reed was able to shoot an even par 71 on Sunday, to finish alone in 10th place at Royal Portrush. It marked his third straight top-25, which is pretty significant considering they are his first three since February. The fact that he came pretty close at the Rocket Mortgage Classic with his T-5 finish to start this stretch leads me to believe he can keep it going here. If he can play smart and avoid the water, he should be able to at least crack the top-20.
