6 Fantasy Football Sleeper Wide Receivers To Target Late In Drafts

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Green Bay Packers

It seems like every Packers’ wide receiver listed in the depth chart behind Devante Adams is getting talked up heading into the 2019 season. At this point, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will end up being Aaron Rodgers’ number two target behind Adams. However, I’m going with Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

It wasn’t until about Week 5 last season when Valdes-Scantling solidified a role for himself in the Packers’ offense. From Weeks 5-17, he had eight games with five or more targets. He finished the year with just two touchdown receptions, but we should expect this number to increase in 2019. Valdes-Scantling is one of the many receivers whose name is being brought up often in “coach speak” this offseason. Albert Breer from SI.com reported that Valdes-Scantling is a name to watch and “has quickly picked up Matt LaFleur’s system”. This is obviously a new scheme for everyone, but it is good to hear that Valdes-Scantling isn’t having any issues catching on.

MVS is currently being drafted in the 10th round of Fantasy Football drafts as the WR45. If he does take over this role as Rodgers’ number two offense, he will finish well above this ADP. Geronimo Allison is there to compete with for targets but has yet to play a full season in the NFL. Allison is being drafted in a similar spot, just a round earlier (WR39). Snag MVS at this current price and get a piece of this Green Bay offense in the double-digit rounds.
