MLB DFS – Building Our Bats:

With a whole lot of salary to play with using guys like Archer/Davies, we can let our bats carry us today and there are two one-off plays I plan on getting heavy exposure to – one based off analytics and one based off nothing but gut feel.

Let’s start with the fun one – Pete Alonso versus Chris Paddack.

https://twitter.com/SNYtv/status/1125524250390036481?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1125524250390036481&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mlb.com%2Fcut4%2Fchris-paddack-beefs-with-pete-alonso

The first time Paddack and Alonso faced there was some serious chirping on both sides and now back in New York with a Home Run Derby title around his belt and some recent tape-measure shots to his name, I cannot wait to see what Alonso does when Paddack challenges him tonight.

Now for the stats based one off – Christian Yelich versus Tanner Roark.

Roark is giving up a .235 ISO to LHB this season and Yelich has a massive .415 ISO mark against RHP this season with a 55.2% HC rate. Calling my shot with Yelich tonight.

Now with two home run bats as one-offs, where can we stack? Come on guys, this is Picks and Pivots – you know we are rocking some LA Dodgers love tonight!

Felix Pena is the PLR tonight for the Angels, a pitcher who is giving up a .262 ISO with 45% HC rate to LHB in 2019 and well, the Dodgers have many lefties who seem to hit baseballs well. In fact, the Dodgers projected line-up has a .228 ISO versus RHP this season with 6 hitters sporting a .191 ISO mark or higher.

So fire up the lefties – Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson, Alex Verdugo, Max Muncy, Corey Seager – mix in the righties like Justin Turner and the red-hot A.J. Pollock and stack away. The Dodgers have the highest IRT on this slate for a reason and with so many focused on paying up for pitching, the pricey Dodger bats may be over-looked much like the Houston Astros were last night as full stacks.
