Dynasty League – Fantasy Football Rookie Mock Draft
By Raju Byfield
1.09 – Noah Fant (TE – Denver Broncos)
An athletic tight end with wide receiver type skills, Noah Fant is yet another player who appears to have landed in an ideal situation. Joe Flacco’s affinity for tight ends remains a major talking point, but the fact that future franchise quarterback Drew Lock targeted stud tight end Albert Okwuegbunam mercilessly at Missouri is what should have dynasty owners excited. Fant can win on all levels of the field and is primed to make an immediate impact for the Denver Broncos. A strong route runner with good body control and good hands, Fant should be an instant starter for Denver.
Fant is an immediate TE1 in Denver. He possesses top five tight end upside once he gets settled in Denver. Due to his athletic gifts, Fant appears to have a TE1 floor for dynasty purposes. He had his concentration lapses in college but should be able to get that corrected with the help of NFL position coaches. He is the one tight end that appears set to log a lion’s share of the tight end snaps as a rookie.
While Hockenson is the superior overall talent, Fant will not be asked to block as much as his Iowa teammate which may give him an easier path to reaching his ceiling as a fantasy tight end. According to DLF, he is already being drafted before tight ends like Austin Hooper, Chris Herndon, Trey Burton and Vance McDonald. Due to his athletic ability, former Iowa Hawkeye Noah Fant should become one of the NFL’s premier after the catch threats at the tight end position.
