Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – DraftKings

SP – Adam Plutko – Cleveland Indians – $6,700

I mentioned we would get to Plutko for tonight, and on the two-pitcher sites, this might be my plan of attack. I will be the first to admit that I do not think Plutko is any better than an average major league caliber pitcher, but there are many reasons to spend down this low here on DraftKings and pay up for some bats.

First of all, Plutko is priced way up to $7,100 on FanDuel, and that seems quite odd when Suarez is cheap as he is. Although he is on the road, he does have a favorable match-up against the light-hitting Royals, who he just faced in his last start. Plutko went seven strong innings in that one, picking up a win and allowing just one earned run. With Suarez over $8K here on DK, paying down for Plutko and hoping he can get 13-17 DK points will allow you much more wiggle room with your bats.

C – Roberto Perez – Cleveland Indians – $3,500

Not a whole lot of value tonight under $4K on the hitter side tonight, so I am going to pick on Montgomery again, and cover the always exciting catcher position. Perez got the night off last night, and he should be right back in there tonight, as he has been one of the most durable catchers in the league this season.

Perez has shown some pop this season with 16 home runs thus far, but even more impressive might be the 40 RBI’s, considering the struggles the Indians endured early in the season. He is on a bit of a homer drought at the moment having not left the yard since before the break, but he has hit safely in two straight starts with one double, and he has been a bit streaky at times this season. With no obvious punts below $3K at the position today, I don’t mind this price for Perez.
