DraftKings MLB Stack Options:

Boston Red Sox vs. Masahiro Tanaka:

I believe the old adage goes “never play Masahiro Tanaka on the road….or against Boston.” This is a double whammy. Tanaka got blasted by Boston in London, but he was not pitching well against Boston even before that. Boston is hitting .285 with 12 homers and 36 runs in 246 at bats. This is stack time! J.D. Martinez is 8-18 with three homers and eight RBI against Tanaka. Benintendi, Mitch Moreland, and Mookie have all homered off of Tanaka twice. Chavis, Brock Holt, and Xander all have one each. There is not wrong answer to “which Boston bats should I use?”

New York Yankees vs. Rick Porcello:

This was the matchup in London that went all wrong. It may in Boston again. Unlike with Tanaka, there is a pretty apparent five man stack in pinstripes that doesn’t include Gleyber or DJ LeMahieu, so I understand if you stray a bit. Edwin is the must play here. He is 14-47(.298) with three homers and 11 RBI against Porcello. Aaron Hicks also has three homers off of Porcello, but he is just 5-36(.139) lifetime. Gregorius and Brett Gardner have each homered twice. Aaron Judge only has one so far, but don’t be shocked if that changes tonight.

Cleveland Indians vs. Mike Montgomery:

Montgomery’s only start as a Royal and of the season came against Cleveland. He gave up five runs in two innings. Tyler Naquin homered in that game. Francisco Lindor has scored four runs in seven at bats against Montgomery. Kipnis drove in a pair. Oscar Mercado, Jose Ramirez, and Luplow all drove in runs as well. I wish I could play eight Cleveland players tonight!

Seattle Mariners vs. Drew VerHagen:

I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around stacking Mariners right now, but this would certainly be the place to do it. Drew VerHagen allowed ten runs and ten walks in just six innings earlier this season. Only Omar Narvaez and Tim Beckham have faced VerHagen before. Those both have homers off of him. Along with those two, I’m a big fan of Kyle Seager. Other than that, I don’t see a must have in this lineup. That said, it’s easy to include Mallex Smith and Vogelbach and turn this into a full stack.
