MLB DFS – Building Our Bats:

Anytime I start a build with two higher-end salary arms, my next stop on FantasyDraft is always to find a potential punt #FreeSquare. With the roster requirement to have hitters from three teams even in this uber-flexible construct, I think finding that one-off punt becomes a key to unlocking your roster and while it may seem crazy, sometimes this type of play is the first man in my build.

Zach Green ($3.9K) is that guy for me tonight, a minimum priced bat against LHP Joey Lucchesi in San Diego and while the ballpark may not seem ideal, the Giants 3B was destroying AAA prior to his weekend call-up with 23 HR’s and over a 1.000 OPS. To get that kind of power potential at this price point – you simply lock him in alongside Pineda/Greinke and you have $8.3K per batter to load up on high-end bats.

Here is the Brian Tulloch flow chart for finding stacks in MLB DFS.

  1. Is Jon Lester Pitching? If yes – stack opposition and lose all money while tilting his wizardry. If no, move to step #2.
  2. Are the Dodgers on the slate? If yes, stack 6 of them. If no, take the day off and try again tomorrow.

All kidding aside, after stacking the Dodgers every game against the Angels and getting a minimal return (which is a nice way of saying I donated), this spot here tonight in Washington against Anibal Sanchez is one I have a hard time passing up.

Sanchez is the exact kind of pitcher I look to target the Dodgers with – he struggles mightily against LHB with a .234 ISO mark and a HR/9 just under 2.1 this season. You know the drill by now – this Dodgers team has a .223 ISO mark against RHP in 2019 with 5 of the 8 projected hitters sporting .200+ ISO marks as individuals including Joc Pederson, Cody Bellinger, Alex Verdugo, Max Muncy and Corey Seager.

One more time with feeling – stack those Dodgers!
